9th person: man Norwegian computer scientist academic education
Galileo (my initial answer was Michel Foucault, but I figured he is a philosopher not a researcher/scientis (do you differentiate between researcher and scientist?)
Richard Hamming (although Dijkstra is a strong contender)

-- interesting -- I do not know how to differentiate between researcher and scientist. this is part of the story that somebody sees Bill Gates as a researcher, I would never thought about him.
